DC's first ever Community Cafe is coming this summerPresented in DC by the Inner-city Muslim Action Network (IMAN) and projectREACH, it's one of the few Muslim-led efforts of a highly professional caliber that provides a space for socially conscious people to collectively celebrate and engage in diverse and creative artistic expression. DC's Community Cafe will take place on Saturday, June 16th at THEARC Theatre with a diverse array of musical and visual artists. Are you interested in the arts, creativity and social change? Or perhaps you enjoy spiritually uplifting music and movement? We need passionate and skilled volunteers to help in areas of event logistics, hospitality, fundraising, sound/tech and publicity! Please email send an email to communitycafedc@gmail.com if interested in volunteering with the following information:
- Name
- why you are interested
- availability (day of or advanced planning) 
- any skill sets that you would like to utilize in your volunteer work (sound/tech crew, logistics, public relations/publicity, hospitality, finance/accounting, etc)
Community Cafe has featured artists from various disciplines including hip hop performers, African drummers, jazz musicians, visual artists, urban dancers, and poets to name a few. Past performers include Mos Def, The Reminders, Yuna, Amir Sulaiman, Azhar Usman and more!  The event fuses together spirituality, art and creativity as impetus for social change. Through Community Cafe, IMAN has also been able to create new works of art infusing traditional forms with contemporary expression, such as Indian ghazals and qawwali with hip hop beats and DJs.
